About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Primary & Population Health team as Graduate Mental Health Nurse, where you will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct, recovery-focused nursing care and case management to mental health consumers under supervision, using individual care and treatment plans.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external agencies to coordinate care and support holistic consumer outcomes.
  • Engaging in health promotion, education, counselling, and group work to empower consumers in managing their mental health and recovery journey.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives, support culturally safe care, and contribute to managing challenging behaviours in the clinical setting.
  • Actively engaging in professional development, including clinical supervision, in-service training, and post graduate university studies in Mental Health (additional support will be provided to assist you to complete any required university clinical placements).

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practising certificate.
  • Currently enrolled in or be willing to enrol in post graduate university studies in Mental Health (minimum Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing).
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in nursing practice, aligned with professional standards and a recovery-focused approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Effective team player with the ability to prioritise workload and adapt creatively to challenges in a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Commitment to consumer-centred care, quality service delivery, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
