About the Role

As a Nurse Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert clinical nursing care and leadership within a supportive and collaborative team environment. You will work directly with consumers, offering compassionate, person-centred mental health care, while also guiding and mentoring nurses to ensure the highest standards of practice. Through your leadership, you will contribute to the development, coordination and oversight of projects and clinical standards that strengthen the quality of care delivered to individuals and groups.

Working within the framework of the National Mental Health Policy and Standards, and aligned with the values of SA Health, you will take accountability for nursing practices, ensuring care is safe, consistent and recovery-focused. Your role will also involve providing education, counselling and group work, while fostering strong partnerships with other health professionals and community organisations. About You

You are an experienced and dedicated mental health nurse who brings strong clinical expertise, leadership skills and a passion for improving outcomes for consumers and carers. With a commitment to recovery-focused care, you thrive in multidisciplinary settings and are confident in guiding practice change and supporting the development of others.

  • Registered Nurse with mental health qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive clinical practice improvement

  • Excellent collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of national mental health policies, recovery frameworks and standards
