About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated allied health team at Mt Gambier Hospital. In this role, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to support the expanded Emergency Department (ED) and Short Stay Unit (SSU), as well as deliver acute occupational therapy services within the hospital.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver comprehensive, patient-centred occupational therapy services in the ED, SSU, and acute wards.
  • Assess functional abilities, plan and implement intervention programs, and prescribe equipment or home modifications as required.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery, discharge planning, and care continuity.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice.

About You

You will be a passionate and adaptable occupational therapist with:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in acute care settings.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
