About the role: 

Reporting to the Head of Department, this role is responsible for conducting the proposed analyses using large-scale data under supervision from the Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator and additional investigators from Flinders University. The incumbent’s focus areas will be in familiarisation with mainstream statistical packages (e.g., R, SAS, Stata), data cleaning and preparation, statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, clustering analysis)

Duties for the role will include:

  • The main responsibilities will involve data cleaning and preparation of datasets from multiple sources for the analysis, applying statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., logistic regression, cluster, network analysis) required for this research project,
  • Undertaking data analyses of a complex nature,
  • Reporting and interpretation of research project,
  • Providing scientific and technical expertise to the development and conduct of research methods,
  • Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers

About you:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in related discipline (e.g., epidemiology, statistics),
  • High level of organisation skills,
  • High level of communication skills,
  • Excellent knowledge of mainstream statistical packages,
  • Experience with working on large datasets,
  • Experience with health data,
  • Experience in epidemiology and/or pharmacoepidemiology studies involving large datasets,
  • Experience with research management of research projects,
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., epidemiology, public health, biostatistics)
