The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network is launching a brand new, purpose-built Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (MHRU) at Noarlunga Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new service and team, helping to shape the future of mental health care in the community. Our new unit is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide a supportive and recovery-oriented environment for consumers with high and complex needs.

The MHRU is seeking skilled and compassionate nursing staff to join our multidisciplinary team. Our nurses are responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centered care and rehabilitation services to consumers. You will work with consumers, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to create, implement, and evaluate individualized rehabilitation plans to support recovery and enhance their lives within the MHRU and the wider community.

About the role: 

We are looking for nursing professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, safe, and person-centered mental health care. Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing rehabilitation services to consumers using a recovery-oriented approach.
  • Working collaboratively with consumers, carers, and other agencies to deliver effective care.
  • Assisting in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of individualised rehabilitation plans.
  • Providing compassionate, relationship-centered care and/or individual case management that embraces personal preferences and human rights.
  • Providing supervision, guidance, and support to other nursing staff and students, as per your level of experience.

About you:

  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, as per your level of experience.
  • Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience in nursing practices in a mental health setting.
  • The ability to work with empathy, display a courteous manner, and express a genuine willingness to help others.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and cohesively within a multidisciplinary team.
