We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Clinical Educator to join our Occupational Therapy Team! 

This position is a joint position between Flinders University of South Australia (FU) and Allied Health, Occupational Therapy, within the framework of the partnership agreement between the two bodies which aims to ensure high quality educational experiences for Occupational Therapy students.

The Senior Clinical Educator applies clinical expertise and significant experience in the delivery of Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to the coordination and development of clinical education and training for Occupational Therapy students and Clinical Supervisors of students on clinical placement within Acute Occupational Therapy services. 

About the Role: 

As the Senior Clinical Educator Occupational Therapy, duties for the role may include:

  • Supporting Occupational Therapy Clinical Supervisors involved in the assessment and supervision of FU Occupational Therapy Masters Programs students, including providing mentorship, training, resources, and support with university placement processes as required
  • Ensuring all FU Occupational Therapy students have access to appropriate clinical education and support mechanisms while on placement
  • Contributing to clinical teaching within the University and on clinical placement
  • Providing advice to Occupational Therapy Management and Flinders University on ways to improve clinical education / training
  • Preparing comprehensive, high-level reports and / or presentations to assist SALHN Management/Executive and Flinders University in their decision-making about allocation and distribution of clinical education resources
  • Providing high quality clinical Occupational Therapy services, assessment and intervention, which will result in improved occupational outcomes for clients 

About you: 

  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, problem-solving, resourcefulness and innovation in a changing workplace
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an effective team of diverse membership
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Extensive experience in the supervision of OT students, including managing students with diverse needs, experience and competency levels
  • Clinical experience at a senior level, in an acute or subacute health care organisation
