Join our MHRU Team as a Rehabilitation Support Worker and use your compassion to empower recovery!

As a member of the Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit multidisciplinary team, you will provide a range of psychosocial rehabilitation supports and services to consumers. You will assist the consumer to prepare for living in the community and enjoy quality of life by supporting them to acquire and develop daily living skills. This role is responsible for providing direct support to consumers in a culturally sensitive and inclusive manner, helping them to accomplish their rehabilitation and recovery goals.

About the role: 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing a range of psychosocial rehabilitation supports and services to consumers using a recovery-oriented approach.
  • Providing direct support for day-to-day tasks to help consumers accomplish their rehabilitation and recovery goals.
  • Assisting consumers to develop skills in self-management, wellness, and safety planning.
  • Documenting relevant information in the consumer's electronic medical record and other forms of data collection as required.
  • Delivering non-discriminatory treatment and support that is sensitive to the social and cultural values of consumers and their families.

About you:

  • The ability to work with empathy, display a courteous manner, and express a genuine willingness to help others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cohesively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience working with consumers with complex needs in a mental health setting.
  • A current First Aid Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).

Qualifications in Cert IV Mental Health or equivalent will be well regarded.
