As our Nurse Consultant - Palliative Care with Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, you will provide clinical leadership and expert guidance whilst delivering compassionate, person-centred care to patients with life-limiting conditions. About the role:  

  • Undertake the nursing care role with a significant degree of independent clinical decision making in the area of personal expertise
  • Mentor and educate nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in palliative care best practices
  • Develop and implement evidence-based palliative care protocols and clinical guidelines
  • Collaborate with highly trained multidisciplinary teams to streamline care processes
  • Contribute to the development of implementation and monitoring of corporate policies and processes, and lead with your expertise.

About you:  

  • Providing confident and compassionate clinical leadership during complex and challenging situations to ensure the highest standard of patient care
  • Provide skilled emotional support and communication skills for sensitive conversations with patients and families
  • Offering experienced clinical leadership combined with mentoring abilities to guide and develop nursing staff within a palliative care setting
  • Demonstrated competence in palliative care nursing practice in accordance with the relevant palliative care standard
