Overview:

The SA Health Implementation Science Unit (ISU) is part of the Clinical System Support and Improvement (CSS&I) Division in the Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW) in SA Health. The Implementation Science Unit facilitates continuous improvement so that SA Health can deliver quality care for South Australians. We tailor evidence-based methods, tools and approaches derived from project management, implementation science, quality improvement and other enabling methods (such as Change Management, Stakeholder Engagement, User Centred Design and Evaluation), to assist SA Health staff to deliver organisational commitments.

The Principal Implementation Advisor:

  • Drives successful, consistent implementation of projects across all stages of the project management continuum, from inception to completion, by proactively promoting the SA Health Project Management Framework and enabling tools.
  • Leverages broad experience across all aspects of implementation practice including key aspects of project management covering planning and scheduling, governance, controls, risk and issue management, change management, benefit realisation, assurance and review.
  • Provides comprehensive analysis and reporting to support, educate, and develop capability across SA Health.
  • Proactively monitors key programs and projects, identifying, analysing, and reporting opportunities and barriers to successful delivery, and undertaking assurance and review activities to ensure continuing learning and growth in implementation capability across SA Health.
  • Critically the role contributes to the development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic initiatives that enable system wide improvements in alignment with SA Health strategic objectives.
