Join our Marion Community Mental Health Teams as an Administration Officer and provide essential support to private practice mental health services that directly impact patient care and recovery outcomes. You'll handle complex administrative tasks, coordinate patient services, and contribute to the seamless delivery of mental health care in Adelaide's southern metropolitan region.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Consultant, this role is responsible for the provision of an efficient and responsive administrative/clerical and enquiry support service with the emphasis on consumer bookings and report typing, and admission/discharge and appointment bookings within CBIS. A high degree of initiative and forward planning is essential for this role. 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Responsibility for ensuring the coordination and prioritisation of all clerical, reception, typing and general administrative duties, the allocation of work, quality control of the output and the general organisation of staff accessing the Private Practice,
  • Ensuring the relevant billing/booking system (CBIS Scheduler) is fully maintained and kept current,
  • Being accountable for the ongoing education and training of other Administrative Officers working within Private Practice Clinic,
  • Ensuring all paperwork (Privileging, Professional Indemnity, Health Insurance Commission (HIC) documentation etc) is accurate and up to date for the Health Professionals working with the Private Practice Clinic,
  • Ensuring compliance with all medical record keeping, registering and discharging and adhering to all policies including offsite storage as required

About you:

  • Ability to deal discreetly, tactfully and compassionately with distressed and/or agitated consumers in a confidential friendly manner,
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding admin services,
  • Demonstrated ability to provide admin expertise to staff of the Private Practice Clinic,
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise own work within limited supervision,
  • Experience in a community health setting or hospital environment or similar, dealing with consumers and their families and working in a multi-disciplinary setting,
  • Previous experience in establishing and maintaining effective admin practices and procedures
