About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Women’s and Babies Division team as Nurse / Midwife Manager - Safety, Quality and Risk (NMM-SQR), where you will be responsible for:

  • Leading Safety, Quality & Risk Systems across the Women’s & Babies Division, ensuring compliance with National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards and continuous accreditation readiness.
  • Driving Clinical Governance Initiatives, including incident monitoring, risk management, clinical audits, and improvement strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Providing Expert Leadership & Advice on safety, quality, and professional practice to nursing and midwifery teams, acting as a key resource, mentor, and change facilitator.
  • Collaborating Across Divisions & Stakeholders to coordinate projects, implement evidence-based improvements, and manage complex service delivery processes.
  • Supporting Education, Research & Evaluation, ensuring quality frameworks are embedded in practice, and services remain responsive, innovative, and culturally sensitive.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered Nurse and/or Midwife, or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding (or eligible to hold) a current practising certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience, with proven competence in relevant nursing or midwifery practice.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead consumer engagement and support staff development.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical governance, including quality improvement systems, accreditation standards, and risk management frameworks.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, professional standards, and current issues in nursing/midwifery and healthcare delivery.
