  • Salary: WHA4 $29.70 - $30.01 per hour + 25% casual loading
  • Salary for Short Term Temporary Appointments: $1,128.60 - $1,140.30 per week (pro rata)

Join the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network as a valued Direct Care Worker in our Central Pool! With casual and temporary positions available, you’ll have the opportunity to work across one or more residential care units, providing compassionate, person-centred care to elderly residents. If you’re motivated, caring, and thrive in a team environment, this is the role for you. 

Our residential aged care units are located across Mount Pleasant, Kapunda, Gumeracha, Eudunda, Strathalbyn and Kangaroo Island.

The Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network runs from Kangaroo Island to Eudunda, wrapping all the way around our metropolitan areas.  We pride ourselves on providing exceptional care to all our consumers, residents, their families, and community.  Our mission is to ensure that you always receive the best quality, safe, consistent, collaborative care and always with kindness.  We do this by maintaining exceptional levels of care at all times supported by systems and processes that assure us of quality and safety of our staff and those we serve.  The LHN has 11 public hospitals, 6 aged care facilities and an extensive range of community-based services.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW/WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR SUCCESS?

Working in this environment, it is important to us that we only employ people with the upmost integrity and commitment to serving the South Australian community and its visitors to the highest possible standards.  To ensure that we meet that commitment there are a few checks that you will be required to undertake.  These are detailed on the Role Description, but are likely to include the following:

  • You will need to be immunised. Please contact the Enquiries Person for this position if you have any queries.  Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy. Further information is in the application for to help guide you. 
  • You will need to undergo employment screening, what you require is also on the front page of the Role Description.
  • You will be required to have completed AQF Certificate III relevant to the position. Note: If you are currently undertaking a Certificate III and expect to complete it soon, we encourage you to still apply. Please include your anticipated completion date in your application.
