About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Women’s and Babies Operations team as a Nursing and Midwifery Director, where you will be responsible for:

  • Provide strategic, operational, and corporate leadership for nursing and midwifery services within the Women’s and Babies Division.
  • Drive safety and quality improvement initiatives across the Division, including education, systems and processes, risk management, and quality plans and projects.
  • Collaborate with senior nursing, midwifery, medical, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust systems that deliver the best outcomes for women, babies, and families.
  • Drive a culture of learning, safety, and continuous improvement, embedding high standards of clinical governance and professional practice.
  • Partner with the Advanced Divisional Midwifery/Nursing Director and key stakeholders to support service delivery, workforce wellbeing, and cost-effective health care.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration (or eligibility) as a Nurse and/or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a practicing certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years post-registration experience as a Nurse and/or Midwife, including leadership or management experience in health care.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience driving safety and quality improvement initiatives and evaluating outcomes in clinical settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary nursing/midwifery practice, health care issues, and quality improvement systems.
