About the role

Join the Northern Country CAMHS team as a Nurse Consultant, providing specialist clinical leadership and expert mental health nursing care to children and young people aged 0–16 years and their families across regional South Australia. In this role, you will lead, coordinate and contribute to team-based activities and programs that improve client and service outcomes. You will deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and develop collaborative treatment plans for clients accessing CAMHS services. The role also involves providing mobile outreach to young people in the community who are unable to access mainstream mental health services. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and community partners, you will mentor staff, support high-quality clinical practice, and contribute to service planning and development within a supportive regional environment with strong community connections.

Skills and Experience

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
