Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service

The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services. The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds. The Port Augusta Hospital also has chemotherapy services and has a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department, both of which are the largest outside of Adelaide. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:

The Registered Nurse plays a key role in delivering high-quality nursing and/or midwifery services across a variety of health service settings. At this level, employees progress from novice to proficient practitioners, consolidating their knowledge, skills, and capability through ongoing professional development and experience. They are accountable for maintaining high standards of care in their own practice while also overseeing activities delegated to others, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care for patients.

 

About You:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. 

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
