About the role

As an Operational Services Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of Anatomical Pathology. You will assist with a variety of laboratory-based administrative and practical tasks, including specimen collection and accessioning, slide and block filing, scanning, and delivery of urgent cases across multiple sites. You will also support multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the accurate entry of data into laboratory and mortuary systems, ensuring critical information is available when needed.

In this role, you will help prepare and process histological specimens while performing routine equipment maintenance to support laboratory operations. You will have the opportunity to work across both the Main Laboratory and Cut-Up Laboratory on a rotational basis, gaining exposure to a range of pathology processes and contributing directly to high-quality patient outcomes. This is a hands-on, dynamic role perfect for someone organised, flexible, and keen to make a meaningful impact in a laboratory environment.

  • Excellent communication, organisational skills, and problem-solving ability

  • Able to work independently or collaboratively, using initiative and broad knowledge
