About the Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) within the Mental Health Clinical Program at CALHN, you’ll step into a pivotal leadership position within the Royal Adelaide Hospital’s RAH 2G Acute Unit. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and fellow ANUMs, you will help drive excellence in mental health nursing care, ensure the delivery of person-centred and recovery-focused services, and actively support staff development and team performance. This position is ideal for a confident and committed mental health nurse ready to influence change, lead practice improvement, and contribute to strategic operational priorities.

In this role, you will play a hands-on part in coordinating complex care, overseeing clinical quality, and guiding less experienced nursing staff through mentorship and supervision. You’ll be empowered to lead nursing initiatives, implement evidence-based practice, and foster a collaborative and inclusive environment. This role provides the opportunity to contribute directly to enhanced consumer outcomes while building your own leadership capabilities in one of SA Health’s most dynamic mental health settings.

About You

You are a highly experienced and qualified mental health nurse with a passion for leadership and service excellence in mental health. You bring strong clinical acumen, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to support, coach, and guide others in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and a recognised qualification in Mental Health Nursing (equivalent to Graduate Diploma).

  • Minimum three years post-registration experience, or current classification as a Clinical Nurse.

  • Proven ability to manage staff performance, provide clinical supervision, and implement service improvements.

  • Hold current required clearances, and be compliant with immunisation and vaccination requirements. See role description.
