The Claims and Rehabilitation Consultant is accountable to the Manager Work Health Safety and Injury Management and Lead Injury Management for ensuring the provision of a prompt, equitable, effective and efficient and efficient workers compensation claims management service including case management of excess employees, non-work related injuries/illness and rehabilitation services to the Department for Health and Wellbeing (DHW). This position sits within the Workforce Services team in DHW and is centrally located within Adelaide CBD.

The Claims and Rehabilitation Consultant will:

  • Work to achieve established targets, key performance indicators and measures of performance, together with the requirements of Audit Verification System, Office of the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment, Return to Work SA and whole of Government strategies.
  • Be responsible for the provision of a consultancy / advisory service to managers / supervisors and employees and for planning and coordinating the rehabilitation and return to work of work injured personnel and placement of excess employees within DHW.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC)  for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
