About the role: 

Reporting to the Strategic Asset Manager, this role is responsible for the operational coordination and support for practical and innovative facilities management and planning functions, particularly those associated with the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA). The position manages the development and implementation of a range of innovative business improvements and provides a range of specialist technical and procedural advice that is specific to the requirements of health stakeholders and contractors in the performance of their facilities management responsibilities within a complex health service. 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensure the effective management of human, financial and physical assets through appropriate planning and allocation of resources to achieve agreed Division/ Service and strategic plans,
  • Expert contribution is made to best practice Facilities Management planning, implementation and reporting across the agency, which ensures the continual achievement of team objectives and goals,
  • Contributing to the development of an Asset Management Plan, including maintaining up to date condition assessments of all built assets through the application of the SA Health ‘traffic light’ report and AGFMA condition of asset reports,
  • Coordinating, or contribution to, the provision of a range of expert advice on a range of complex and critical asset and facility related matters, including in relation to the Whole of Government Facilities Management Contract, and other relevant organisational requirements and standards,
  • Identify, manage and treat all risks by applying treatments to reduce threats to staff, clients and general business operations

About you:

  • Trade Qualifications,
  • Proven ability to recognise problems, formulate and implement clear and effective solutions and proven ability to set priorities to achieve agreed outcomes, targets and initiatives,
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direction to a team of staff and function effectively as a manager within a semi-autonomous management framework,
  • Ability to plan, lead, implement, manage and evaluate goals, objectives and strategies which recognise organisational priorities in the context of resource constraints and a continually changing social, economic and political environment,
  • Managing physical, human and budgetary resources,
  • Development of and monitoring of financial allocations, reporting and auditing using computerised software to manage, forecast trends and paint an accurate financial snapshot,
  • Experience in undertaking the management/implementation of maintenance related building projects
