The Yorke & Northern Region is looking for a dedicated and organised Medical Liaison Officer to provide essential support to our growing medical team and help shape the future of healthcare in rural and remote South Australia.

As the Medical Liaison Officer, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring high-quality medical services are delivered across our regional hospitals. You’ll work closely with the Medical Workforce Coordinator and Director Acute Medical Services to coordinate staffing, recruitment, rostering, and all related administrative activities for our medical workforce. This key position supports the development of staffing strategies and ensures a seamless service to our community, 24/7.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executive Support: Manage the diary and appointments of the Director Acute Medical Services, coordinate travel and accommodation, and assist with preparing high-quality reports, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Roster Coordination: Assist in the creation and distribution of rosters, ensuring smooth communication across departments, and helping to manage timesheets and payroll processes.
  • Recruitment and Retention: Support the recruitment and onboarding of medical staff, including liaising with candidates, ensuring credentialing and registration, and coordinating orientation and mandatory training.
  • Administrative Excellence: Develop and refine office systems, take minutes for sub-committees, and maintain accurate records and documentation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in providing high-level administrative support to executive staff, with a focus on confidentiality and efficiency.
  • Strong organisational skills, with experience in coordinating medical staff rosters, recruitment, and retention.
  • Expertise in minute-taking, preparing agendas, and managing office systems to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
