The Principal Employee and Industrial Relations Consultant is accountable to the Employee and Industrial Relations Manager for leading specific industrial relations activities and projects and the delivery of an effective and responsive operational industrial relations advisory and consultancy service to SAAS.

To support this critical objective the Principal Employee and Industrial Relations Consultant will ensure the establishment and maintenance of positive and constructive employee and industrial relations with all relevant stakeholders, including staff and unions for SAAS.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Complex Industrial Relations Consultancy and Negotiations
Manage and deliver high-quality employee and industrial relations consultancy services, including complex industrial relations advice, negotiations, advocacy, and enterprise bargaining agreement negotiations for SA Ambulance Service.

Provide Executive-Level Strategic Advice and Briefings
Deliver expert advice and briefings to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Directors within SA Ambulance Service, and other Government agencies on sensitive industrial relations issues that may impact organisational operations.

Represent SA Ambulance Service in Legal and Industrial Proceedings
Provide expert representation and prepare submissions on behalf of SA Ambulance Service in proceedings before State and Federal Tribunals, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and industrial forums with union organisations.

Develop and Implement Workforce Planning Strategies
Contribute to workforce planning, policy development, and reform activities that support organisational priorities, critical shortage areas, and the implementation of SA Health-wide workforce plans and attraction and retention strategies.

Lead Stakeholder Relationship Management and Training Development
Establish and maintain professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, develop training programmes to enhance organisational change capability, and lead staff coaching to support effective workforce management practices
