About the Role

As a Technical Officer – Cytogenetics (TGO3), you will play a key role in delivering expert technical support within a specialised laboratory setting. You will apply your technical knowledge and experience to determine, develop, and implement standardised methodologies, ensuring the highest quality and consistency in laboratory services. Working either independently or as a senior member of a project team, you will take responsibility for complex technical tasks, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Cytogenetics team.

In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist input and guidance while supporting the professional development of junior staff. Your work will be integral to achieving reliable laboratory outcomes and maintaining compliance with established protocols and standards. About You
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Technical Officer who demonstrates professional expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality laboratory outcomes.

  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) with extensive laboratory experience and technical knowledge.

  • Skilled in prioritising tasks, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and validating laboratory results.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead, train and motivate staff.

  • Knowledgeable in NATA accreditation, quality systems, Work Health & Safety, and specialist laboratory practices.
