About the Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a vital part in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager and leading your colleagues to deliver safe, high-quality and person-centred care. This role offers the opportunity to consolidate your clinical expertise while stepping into leadership responsibilities, guiding and supporting less experienced staff, and ensuring continuity and consistency of care across the ward, unit or service.

You will also contribute to the ongoing development of our service by assisting with practice improvements, performance management, recruitment, rostering and resource planning. With your dedication to teamwork and commitment to professional growth, you will help foster a supportive, collaborative environment where staff feel valued and patients receive the very best care.

About You

You are an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment. You bring strong clinical expertise, leadership potential, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

  • Registered Nurse with current NMB(A) practising certificate and 3+ years post-registration experience.

  • Skilled in acute and chronic nursing, with experience supervising less experienced staff and students.

  • Strong communicator with problem-solving, negotiation, and teamwork skills, able to prioritise effectively.

  • Knowledgeable in healthcare legislation, standards, quality improvement, and contemporary nursing practice.
