About the role

As an Assistant Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) or equivalent in leading and managing the nursing team within the unit. You will collaborate with other ANUMs to promote continuity and consistency of care, ensuring that high-quality care standards are met across the team. Your portfolio will focus on driving practice changes, helping the NUM with key responsibilities such as performance management, recruitment, staffing, and leave management, while maintaining an efficient and supportive work environment.

In this dynamic position, you will also be responsible for assisting the NUM with unit management tasks, including rostering, work allocation, and attendance management. Your involvement will extend to financial and supplies planning and monitoring, ensuring resources are managed effectively. About You

We are looking for a skilled and passionate professional who thrives in leadership and collaborative environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Registered Nurse with Mental Health Qualification: Hold a current practising certificate and a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing.
  • Proven Leadership and Communication Skills: Ability to lead, problem-solve, and foster a positive team environment.
  • Extensive Mental Health Experience: At least three years post-registration, with competence in caring for individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Strong Knowledge Base: In-depth understanding of mental health nursing practice, legislative responsibilities, and quality improvement in healthcare settings.
