About the role

The Principal Clinical Psychologist provides expert leadership and clinical governance of Psychology services across CAMHS within the framework of national and WCHN standards. The role partners with the CAMHS Executive on service development, workforce planning, and quality improvement, ensuring compliance with supervision, credentialing, and training requirements. It also involves consultation on complex clinical cases, supervision of psychologists, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to advance service quality and professional standards.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide clinical leadership and facilitate service planning to ensure clinical best practice underpins the development of Psychology services within CAMHS
  • Contribute towards the development and achievement of the strategically significant directions of CAMHS and the WCHN
  • Display a commitment to continuous personal and professional development

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia within an Endorsed Areas of Practice – Clinical
  • Must hold approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia at all levels of supervision (primary and secondary).
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in clinical leadership and the facilitation of service planning to ensure clinical best practice underpins the development of Psychology services.
  • Ability to provide discipline-specific professional coordination, strategic consultation and liaison, and leadership across CAMHS to address clinical matters affecting Psychology service planning decisions, policy and workforce.
  • Highly competent to successfully participate in the Health Network’s clinical governance system to ensure outcomes consistent with Psychology and Allied Health standards, and organisational objectives.
