About the Role

Have you been considering working in the mental health sector or seeking a change? We have flexible opportunities in both our adult and older persons services within community, rehabilitation and acute teams.

As a Mental Health Occupational Therapist within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Mental Health Clinical Program, you will play a key role in delivering recovery-focused occupational therapy services within adult or older persons' inpatient mental health settings. Working within a multidisciplinary team including other mental health occupational therapists, you will provide evidence-based assessments, consultations, individual and group interventions, and support discharge planning. Your expertise will help enhance outcomes for consumers and their families, contributing to a holistic approach to mental health recovery.

The available roles offer the opportunity to work with consumers presenting with a range of complex psychosocial and physical needs, working collaboratively with consumers, carers, and other professionals across the service and external organisations. You will apply your proficient mental health knowledge and skills to support the development of care plans, remove discharge barriers, and ensure a safe and supported admission and discharge. There are also opportunities to support occupational therapy student placements and provide professional supervision to AHP1 Occupational Therapists. Ongoing professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and professional supervision are provided, all aimed at achieving optimal consumer outcomes. Being part of a large health network also offers opportunities to explore the occupational therapy role across acute, rehabilitation and community-based services.
