About the role

As the Radiographic Screening Manager, you will lead the delivery of high-quality breast screening imaging services, ensuring efficiency, compliance and consistent outcomes across the program. You will oversee training programs and ongoing professional development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence within the radiography team. Your role will include on-site visits to clinics, where you will provide professional support, guidance and mentorship to staff.

In addition to managing team culture and cohesion, you will carry clinical and professional responsibility for radiography staff within the BSSA Screening Service. You will also act as a specialist consultant to internal and external stakeholders, contribute to research exploring current and emerging developments in the field, and maintain your own clinical caseload in mammography. This is a rewarding opportunity to combine leadership, research, and hands-on clinical expertise to make a meaningful impact on patient care and service delivery.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced radiography professional who is committed to delivering excellence in breast screening services. You will bring strong technical expertise, proven leadership, and the ability to support and mentor others while maintaining the highest standards of clinical quality and patient care.

  • Qualifications and Accreditation – Current AHPRA registration with an appropriate degree in radiation science (or equivalent), ASMIRT accreditation, and eligibility for a SA radiation licence.

  • Technical Expertise – Extensive experience in mammography, breast sonography, and contemporary screening, assessment and interventional techniques, with strong knowledge of quality assurance methods such as PGMI.

  • Leadership and Mentoring – Demonstrated capacity to lead and inspire, including training and mentoring junior staff, resolving conflict, and fostering a positive and professional team culture.

  • Communication and Innovation – Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines, manage sensitive issues, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
