About the role

The Administrative Officer is responsible for accurate and confidential data entry and management of referrals using the Statewide Referral Management System (SRMS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for the Women’s and Children’s Health Network. This role involves supporting various administrative tasks, business projects, and audits, while working independently and handling complex duties in collaboration with management to ensure smooth service delivery.

Key duties of the role

  • Timely and accurate processing of incoming referrals into SRMS and PAS, ensuring compliance with SA Health and WCHN policies and KPIs.
  • Always maintain strict confidentiality and security of medical records and patient information.
  • Coordinate referral steps and update records in SRMS and EMR, seeking clarification from Medical Records and Patient Registration teams when needed.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to interact courteously and helpfully with a diverse range of people, including patients, staff, and the public.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain neutrality and professionalism in challenging situations while upholding confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy with limited supervision.
  • Competent in word processing, data entry, Microsoft Office, and knowledge of office management procedures.
