Join our team in Southern Adelaide Palliative Services, based at Flinders Medical Centre as a Part-time Allied Health Assistant in Palliative Care. This ongoing position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families during their most challenging times, working within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.

About the role: 

The Allied Health Assistant is accountable to the Manager, Community Palliative Care, the Allied Health Professionals and the Nurse Unit Manager of Laurel Hospice to support patients with life limiting illnesses to participate in a wide range of meaningful activities that support their needs, goals and preferences that promote their quality of life.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Managing a busy workload and competing demands requiring the ability to organise and prioritise workload and time.
  • Ability to assist with diverse activities and key accountabilities requiring the ability to work as a member of a team across a number of allied health professionals.
  • Work with patients/carers/families as may be required by the role under the direction of the supervising AHP

About you:

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and / or handling of patient related equipment and devices.
  • Knowledge of working within boundaries of patient confidentiality and ethical practice.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for work in a healthcare environment.
  • Proven experience in basic computing skills, including email and word processing.
