Overview:

The Principal Governance and Assurance Manager is accountable to the Associate Director, Governance, Risk and Compliance and is responsible for the following:

  • Providing high level strategic advice to the Procurement and Supply Chain (PSC) Branch within the Corporate and Infrastructure Division across a broad range of governance, procurement and supply chain matters, with a focus on developing and influencing agency-wide governance and assurance policies and frameworks to meet corporate and government objectives.
  • Leading the procurement assurance program to ensure across government legislative and policy framework requirements are met and providing reports identifying non-compliance to government procurement requirements.
  • Working within PSC to improve policies, communications, and training to address any indications where improvements could be implemented related to governance, assurance, and compliance, and assisting with associated change management.
  • Acting as a key advisor on audit and assurance related matters, interfacing between PSC and internal/external audit (i.e. Audit Office of SA) to ensure timely responses and optimal outcomes.
  • Managing supplier complaints and providing general probity advice to procurement and contract management staff to support transparency and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Supporting the Associate Director in the oversight of the risk management function across PSC business units.
  • Ensuring a professional and responsive approach to the management of governance and assurance matters, including developing and maintaining constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
