Join Our Team as a Maintenance Officer – Keep Our Facilities Safe, Functional and Welcoming

Play an essential role in ensuring a well-maintained, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors.

About the Role:

As a Maintenance Officer, you’ll be responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the health unit’s facilities, both inside and out. Your work will include a variety of tasks such as rubbish collection, carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical repairs, and grounds maintenance.

Reporting directly to the Services General Supervisor and ultimately to the Director of Nursing, you’ll help ensure the smooth operation and safety of the facility. Your practical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality maintenance will make a tangible difference in the care and comfort of our community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in building and ground maintenance.
  • Experience in the use of computer packages e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Proven experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position.
  • A current car driver’s licence is essential, and a bus licence would be highly regarded.

Applicant Information

This is a part time vacancy, working 72 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements:

  • National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients)
  • Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A
