Overview:

The Project Officer is responsible for coordinating, executing and reviewing programs and projects which support the effective administration of food legislation and standards throughout the State.  The role reviews food legislation and develops and implements sound programs, plans, protocols and tools for the implementation, monitoring of compliance and enforcement of requirements. 

The Project Officer also receives documents and addresses complex food incidents, complaints and enquiries, investigates, reviews, assesses and reports on matters in relation food legislation and programs and food safety, composition and labelling and participates in programs that ensure the maintenance of a clean, comfortable and healthy environment.

Appointment to classification will be based upon skills / experience.

Criminal History Screening Requirement

  • A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)

Immunisation Risk for this position is Category C (minimal patient contact)

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Special Conditions

  • A driver’s licence (car class) is essential.
  • Out of hours work will be required via a rotating weekend on-call roster. Other out of hours work may be required.
