Join Our Team as a Nurse Practitioner – Lead Excellence in Palliative Care

Are you an experienced and compassionate nurse ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families? We’re seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced clinical leadership and deliver high-quality, person-centred palliative care across the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN).

About the Role:

As a recognised clinical expert in palliative care, you will practise autonomously and collaboratively within an expanded scope, providing advanced clinical assessment, intervention, and coordination of care across community, acute, and aged care settings. You will also provide clinical leadership, supervision, and education to support the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and integrated palliative care services.

In this pivotal role, you will ensure governance and best practice standards are upheld, lead service development initiatives, and work in partnership with key stakeholders to enhance care delivery and outcomes for patients receiving palliative care. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will accept accountability for your clinical practice, professional advice, and delegations of care, maintaining alignment between practice and policy.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with the notation of Nurse Practitioner.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated advanced level of nursing practice in the care and management of palliative care
  • Experience in developing policies, procedures and models of care in the relevant area of clinical practice.
  • Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Experience working with and understanding of people from varying cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal Torres Strait Islanders.
  • Experience in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
