WHAT ARE WE OFFERING?

A fantastic opportunity awaits an Emergency Department Consultant to join the dynamic Emergency Department team at Mount Barker District Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Located just 40 minutes from Adelaide, the hospital serves the growing Adelaide Hills community and operates from a newly built, modern ED.

Seeing approximately 30,000 presentations per year - including a high proportion of paediatric cases - the ED is well supported with 24/7 radiology, point-of-care testing, and provides urgent/MET support to inpatient wards and the Renal/Infusion unit.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?
As an Emergency Medicine Consultant, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care across a broad range of adult and paediatric emergencies.
  • Provide leadership within the ED team and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in teaching and supervision of medical staff, contributing to ongoing education within the department.
  • Play an integral role in developing a combined ACEM and Rural Generalist ED training hub with a strong educational reputation.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Do you hold an MBBS (or equivalent) and meet the requirements for Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia?
  • Do you have substantial clinical experience in emergency medicine within a setting comparable to an Australian Emergency Department?
  • Are you skilled in managing both adult and paediatric emergencies with strong clinical judgement and competence?
  • Are you an effective communicator and negotiator who thrives within a multidisciplinary team?
  • Do you have experience supervising and teaching undergraduate or postgraduate medical staff?

  • You will be required to hold full registration with AHPRA 
  • Note: Total Indicative Remuneration (TIRP) includes award salary, remote call allowance, professional development, A&R Allowance & Super).
