Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service is seeking an Experienced Nurse/Midwife for the Private Ward on a temporary full-time basis. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care, mentor less experienced staff, and support the Nurse Unit Manager in leadership, operational management, and quality improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care and professional development within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver proficient, person-centred nursing/midwifery care and oversee daily patient outcomes.
  • Support the Nurse Unit Manager with leadership, service coordination, and operational duties.
  • Mentor and educate students and less experienced staff, fostering professional growth and learning.
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical auditing, and research to enhance patient care and service delivery.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Registered Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with 3+ years post-registration experience and strong clinical expertise.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and ability to manage workloads independently.
  • Collaborative team player with experience working effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, healthcare standards, Quality Improvement systems, and a commitment to a positive work environment.
