About the role

Provide ophthalmology services to inpatients and outpatients at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital under consultant supervision. Support clinical care, education, audit, and research activities while contributing to quality improvement and participating in the on-call roster.

Key duties of the role

  • Deliver safe, effective ophthalmology care to inpatients and outpatients
  • Participate in after-hours and on-call surgical rosters
  • Contribute to departmental teaching, research, and audit
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold governance standards
  • Support a collaborative, positive, and learning-focused team culture

Skills and experience

  • MBBS or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Minimum 2 years’ postgraduate medical experience
  • Demonstrated experience in ophthalmology or surgical rotations
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical documentation skills
  • Commitment to teaching, research, and continuous improvement
