The Regional Palliative Care Consultant role offers an exciting leadership opportunity to shape and deliver high-quality, safe, and sustainable palliative care services across country South Australia. Reporting to the Lead Medical Advisor, Rural Support Service, you will work with regional LHNs, GPs, multi-disciplinary teams, and aged care facilities to improve care for residents in residential aged care. This role combines clinical practice, strategic leadership, education, and service development, providing the chance to influence palliative care across rural communities while fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ongoing development and implementation of palliative care models across regional LHNs.
  • Provide expert clinical services and advice to patients, RACFs, GPs, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support and mentor clinical staff, promoting high-quality shared care, education, and professional development.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making, quality improvement, risk management, and service planning in country South Australia.
