About the Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will play a key role in supporting the NUM in leading a dedicated team of nurses within a dynamic mental health setting. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, consumer-centred care, ensuring continuity and consistency across the unit while assisting in implementing practice improvements and supporting less experienced staff. Your clinical expertise and leadership skills will help foster a collaborative and supportive environment where both staff and consumers thrive.

In this rewarding role, you will balance hands-on clinical care with leadership responsibilities, including performance management, rostering, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives. You will provide direct nursing care, education, counselling, and group support to consumers with complex mental health needs, while actively participating in multidisciplinary collaboration, policy development, and action research projects. About You

You are an experienced and dedicated mental health nurse with strong leadership skills and a commitment to providing high-quality, consumer-focused care. With a solid background in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, you thrive in multidisciplinary teams, foster staff development, and contribute to continuous improvement in clinical practice.

  • Registered Nurse with current practising certificate and Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing

  • Skilled in leading, supervising, and mentoring nursing staff and students

  • Experienced in managing complex mental health care, prioritising workloads, and facilitating change

  • Knowledgeable in contemporary mental health practice, legislation, and quality improvement standards
