About the role

As a Facilities Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the effective operation, maintenance, and improvement of our buildings, plant, and infrastructure. Your role will involve providing sound technical advice and building management expertise to ensure all maintenance programs—both planned and remedial—are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with relevant standards and codes.

You will oversee a range of trades and service providers, ensuring quality outcomes, compliance, and value for money across all facility-related projects. With a proactive approach to problem-solving and financial analysis, you will identify opportunities for improvement and support the ongoing enhancement of workplace safety and asset performance. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and project coordination skills within a professional and supportive environment.

About You

You are a motivated and technically skilled professional with a strong trade background and a passion for maintaining safe, efficient, and high-performing facilities. With excellent organisational and communication skills, you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can balance multiple priorities, oversee contractors, and deliver high-quality maintenance and project outcomes. You take pride in your technical knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

In this role, you will bring:

  • Qualifications & Technical Expertise
A recognised trade qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline, with sound knowledge of the Building Code of Australia, WHS legislation, and related Australian standards.

  • Project & Maintenance Experience
Proven experience in building and plant construction, refits, and maintenance, with the ability to assess, schedule, and manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Analytical & Digital Proficiency
Strong reporting and data analysis skills, with experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications to support planning, costing, and documentation.

  • Communication & Leadership Skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and negotiation abilities, enabling effective collaboration with contractors, stakeholders, and staff at all levels within government and industry.
