We’re seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook to join the friendly team at Millicent District Hospital and Health Service, part of the Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN).

As an experienced Cook with a background in large-scale food production and team coordination, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to patients, residents, and staff. In this role, you’ll oversee food preparation, maintain quality and safety standards, and provide guidance and leadership to catering staff to ensure efficient and effective food service across the health unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and plating of meals, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards.
  • Manage food ordering and control production to meet demand.
  • Provide guidance to apprentices and catering staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Balance menus and cater for special dietary needs.
  • Operate and maintain complex kitchen equipment and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, storage, and handling procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualifications.
  • Proven experience in preparing bulk meals and managing catering staff.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and dietary requirements.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to relate to diverse teams.
