About the role

Leads and coordinates midwifery care within the Women’s Assessment Service. Reports to the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager and supports safe, high-quality, patient-centred care through effective leadership, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key duties of the role

  • Lead and coordinate midwifery care across the Women’s Assessment Service
  • Guide, support and develop staff to achieve positive clinical outcomes
  • Foster teamwork, innovation and a safe, supportive work environment
  • Manage resources, staffing and daily operations within budget
  • Drive quality improvement, risk management and evidence-based practice

Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-registration experience in midwifery practice
  • Proven leadership, communication and team coordination skills
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to mentor and support others
  • Skilled in managing workloads, problem solving and decision making
