About the Role

As the Acute Dialysis Nurse Unit Manager you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within the Acute Dialysis Unit. Drawing on your clinical knowledge and experience, you will coordinate and lead nursing, midwifery and multidisciplinary team activities to achieve continuity of care and positive patient outcomes. This role requires a proactive approach to managing complex care needs across the unit, including patients in ward and ICU settings, while balancing staff coordination and skill requirements effectively.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will be accountable for the outcomes of nursing and multidisciplinary practices, addressing any gaps between policy and practice, and fostering a supportive, high-performing team culture. Your expertise will help drive continuous improvement, enhance team performance, and ensure safe, efficient and compassionate care for patients requiring dialysis. About You

You are a skilled and experienced nursing or midwifery professional who excels in leadership, teamwork and delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You bring a passion for fostering staff development, driving innovation, and leading change in a dynamic healthcare environment.

  • You are a Registered Nurse (or eligible) with a current practising certificate and at least 3 years post-registration experience.

  • You demonstrate strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills, with experience supervising and developing staff and students.

  • You have proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, review and improve care models, and promote consumer engagement initiatives.

  • You possess comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, and contemporary nursing/midwifery practices, including the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
