Join SA Health as a Senior Project Officer - National Standards and lead the implementation of NSQHS 1 (Clinical Governance) healthcare standards across Southern Adelaide Local Health Network. This part-time contract role until March 2026 offers the opportunity to work with clinical teams and stakeholders to ensure our health services meet national benchmarks for quality and safety. You'll combine strategic project management with practical application, making a real difference in healthcare delivery for South Australian communities.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for providing support to the Clinical Governance Standard as part of the National Safety and Quality Health Services (NSQHS) Standards accreditation assessment, systems, and processes.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Commitment to delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the SALHN Clinical Governance Framework and Consumer Engagement Framework and Plan,
  • Contributes to the development, delivery and evaluation of education and training programs for staff on accreditation requirements, related to the NSQHS standards and quality improvement processes,
  • Developing and maintaining project plans to support end to end project activities for the Clinical Governance Standard (NS1),
  • Contributing and supporting effective project reporting mechanisms,
  • Developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders,
  • Facilitating stakeholder discussions and workgroups related to accreditation,
  • Researches and prepares reports and briefings on accreditation activities and outcomes for a range of audiences,
  • Provide leadership and contribute to broader organisational leadership, planning and decision making

About you:

  • Demonstrated ability to work under limited direction and independently, including identifying performance outcomes, and setting priorities to achieve objectives and meet deadlines, often in a context of completing priorities and expectations,
  • Proven ability to organise, manage and administer projects to achieve successful outcomes using project methodology,
  • Ability to apply initiative, and exercise sound judgement and make decisions in a timely manner, including when under pressure of deadlines,
  • Ability to contribute to the achievement of effective outcomes as a member of a team particularly through periods of change,
  • Experience in project work involving both teamwork and individual effort,
  • A sound knowledge of project management,
  • Experience in working in the health care sector,
  • Experience in performance monitoring and the implementation of quality improvement strategies related to health service delivery
  • Ability to think strategically and identify issues, gaps and variances and develop options for progression or resolution
