About the role

As an Allied Health Assistant (Pharmacy), you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmacy services to patients and staff. Working under the supervision of qualified pharmacists, you will assist with the dispensing, distribution, and preparation of medications while contributing to a smooth and professional service for both inpatient and outpatient care. You may also be involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing and general administrative or reception duties that support daily operations.

This role offers the opportunity to build your skills and progress within the pharmacy field. As an AHA1, you will receive hands-on training and development towards achieving a Certificate III qualification or progression to an AHA2 role. As an AHA2, you will take on greater responsibility for dispensing, packaging, inventory management, and providing technical support to staff. Whichever level you commence at, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team dedicated to optimising patient care and promoting excellence in pharmacy practice.

You are a motivated and dependable Pharmacy Assistant with a genuine interest in supporting the delivery of safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services. With strong communication and technical skills, you take pride in contributing to a professional, team-focused environment that prioritises patient care and service excellence.

  • Skilled and Detail-Oriented: Possess sound arithmetic, written communication, and organisational skills, with a strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and safe work practices.

  • Experienced and Knowledgeable: Demonstrated experience in hospital pharmacy operations with proficiency in Pharmacy Management Software and a solid understanding of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and medical terminology.

  • Collaborative and Adaptable: Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, showing initiative and reliability in a dynamic healthcare environment.

  • Professional and Person-Centred: Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate physical capability for the practical aspects of the role, such as stock handling and dispensing support.
