Director, Quality and Safety

RN/M5.2, AHP5 or MAS3 Classification | Influence Service Excellence

Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN) delivers vital healthcare across 27 facilities in regional South Australia, including acute hospitals, aged care homes, community health sites and multi-purpose services. RMCLHN provides emergency care, surgery, maternity, Aboriginal health, mental health and allied health services to over 70,000 residents. With a strong focus on rural health excellence, RMCLHN offers diverse clinical environments and meaningful opportunities for professionals to make a lasting impact in the communities they serve.

We are now seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead RMCLHN’s strategic and operational quality and safety agenda as Director, Quality and Safety. Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer, and forming part of the Executive, this position plays a critical role in shaping the governance framework that underpins safe, effective and consumer-centred care across the network, including design, implementation and continuous improvement of systems that support clinical risk management, accreditation compliance and performance monitoring aligned with national and state standards.

This pivotal leadership role will lead a multidisciplinary team within the Quality and Safety Unit and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovation, embed a culture of excellence and ensure the delivery of high-quality health services. The role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership capabilities, strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of clinical governance, risk and regulatory frameworks, and the ability to influence change, foster partnerships and contribute to the advancement of safety and quality across a complex health environment.

This is an outstanding opportunity to influence health outcomes and lead transformational change in rural South Australia. As a multi-classified role, applications are encouraged from appropriately qualified professionals with backgrounds in nursing, allied health or health administration. Residence within RMCLHN is not essential, however, frequent travel and presence on-site is expected, including overnight stays, which will be reasonably covered by the LHN.

Applications close at 5:00pm on Friday, 14 November 2025.
Telephone enquiries to Nick Stillwell or Tess Shaw are welcome on (+618) 8212 0999.
