About the role

The AHP2 Social Worker delivers trauma-informed social work services to people 16+ impacted by rape or sexual assault, providing individual and group support, contributing to research and service development, and delivering education and training across the service.

Key duties of the role

  • Deliver intake, assessment, counselling, case management and group programs for victim-survivors.
  • Manage complex cases, provide specialist advice and advocate across health, legal and community systems.
  • Lead project development and evaluation to support organisational objectives.
  • Plan and deliver staff training and community education, contributing to national program delivery.
  • Conduct research and needs analysis to inform service planning and improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Social Work with eligibility for full AASW membership.
  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in crisis, trauma and therapeutic counselling.
  • Strong skills in assessment, case management, advocacy and multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • High-level communication skills and ability to work with diverse client groups.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, sexual assault response, and relevant legal/ethical frameworks.
