About the role

As the Consumer Engagement Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in embedding the BreastScreen SA Consumer and Community Engagement Strategy across the service. You’ll ensure the voice of patients and the community is central to decision-making, helping shape initiatives that enhance the patient experience and improve health outcomes for all who access BreastScreen SA.

You will lead the coordination and delivery of consumer engagement projects and initiatives that foster authentic partnerships between BreastScreen SA, its patients, and the broader community. Through collaboration, advocacy, and innovative engagement approaches, you will elevate patient perspectives, influence service improvements, and promote a culture that values lived experience as a key driver of excellence in women’s health.

About You

You are an experienced and passionate advocate for consumer and community engagement, with the ability to translate insights into meaningful improvements in health service delivery. Your communication, collaboration, and analytical skills allow you to build strong relationships, facilitate effective discussions, and elevate the voice of patients to influence positive change.

  • Consumer Engagement Expertise: Excellent engagement skills with a deep understanding of the importance of amplifying the patient voice to influence and shape services.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively across all levels of the organisation.

  • Analytical & Facilitation Skills: Demonstrated experience in group facilitation, data analysis, and report preparation, with the ability to interpret and apply consumer insights.

  • Change & Innovation: Proven ability to influence, drive, and embed change, supported by knowledge of contemporary consumer engagement principles and frameworks, including digital engagement tools.
