About the Role

Are you ready to take the next step in your nursing or midwifery career and play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care? As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you’ll combine your clinical expertise with supportive leadership to ensure the smooth and effective running of the ward, unit, or service. You’ll work closely with the Nurse or Midwife Unit Manager to guide and mentor your team, fostering a culture of collaboration, respect, and professional growth.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to practice improvement, continuity of care, and the overall quality of patient outcomes. You’ll take an active role in staff development, resource management, and day-to-day operational responsibilities while supporting the implementation of positive change. About You

You’re a dedicated and compassionate nursing professional who leads with integrity, collaboration, and clinical excellence. With a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care, you bring a blend of experience, professionalism, and adaptability to every challenge.

  • Qualified and Registered Professional – Registered (or eligible) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practising certificate relevant to your specialty.

  • Experienced Clinician – Minimum of three years’ post-registration experience with proven competence in your area of practice and experience mentoring or supervising others.

  • Collaborative and Effective Communicator – Skilled in teamwork, problem solving, conflict resolution, and fostering positive professional relationships.

  • Knowledgeable and Adaptable Practitioner – Sound understanding of healthcare legislation, standards, and quality improvement, with the ability to think creatively and work flexibly in a dynamic environment.
