Senior Nursing Leadership Role - Marjorie Tripp | Flinders Medical Centre

This Nurse Unit Manager role is based in Flinders Medical Centre's Marjorie Tripp Ward. Marjorie Tripp is a purpose-built 20-bed Acute Geriatric ward providing specialised care for older people who are being cared for within the Older Persons Assessment and Liaison (OPAL) Service and Residential Care Outreach Team (RCOT). In this role, you will employ your clinical knowledge and experience to provide pivotal co-ordination of patient care delivery and multidisciplinary team activities. 

About the role:

Reporting to the Advanced Nursing Director, your duties as the Nurse Unit Manager will include:

  • Ensuring high quality and safe and consistent care within the SALHN Integrated Governance Framework.
  • Ensuring service provision and activities are person and family centred and professionally and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
  • Ensuring mechanisms are in place to support ongoing education where both work and learning are integrated. 
  • Ensuring the effective management of human, financial and physical assets through appropriate planning and allocation of resources
  • Providing leadership and direction by acting as a role model, mentor, consultant and resource person. 

About you:

  • Experience in management and leadership roles. 
  • Effective leadership skills, including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. 
  • Demonstrated minimum of 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience. 
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
