About the Role

As a Consultant – Renal and Transplantation Service, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care as part of the Central and Northern Adelaide Renal and Transplantation Service (CNARTS). Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical services across the renal network, ensuring excellence in patient outcomes and the ongoing development of renal medicine services within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN).

In this role, you will contribute to all aspects of clinical care, education, and service improvement while aligning with CALHN policies and the professional standards of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). You will also support regional renal services, collaborating closely with country health teams to deliver specialist care across South Australia. This position offers the opportunity to lead innovation, mentor junior clinicians, and make a lasting impact on renal health across both metropolitan and regional communities.

About You

You are a dedicated and accomplished nephrologist with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, research, and clinical leadership. Your expertise in managing complex renal conditions is matched by your collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Educational/Vocational Qualifications: Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Nephrology (or equivalent) and registrable as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.

  • Clinical Expertise & Experience: Extensive experience across nephrology disciplines, including chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and transplant care, with participation in multidisciplinary clinical meetings.

  • Leadership & Professional Integrity: Proven leadership in clinical teams, with a commitment to quality improvement, teaching, and ongoing professional development.

  • Knowledge & Interpersonal Skills: Deep understanding of renal medicine in a teaching hospital setting, combined with strong communication, cultural sensitivity, and patient-focused decision-making.
